Custom Chandelier from a Photo: How We Turn a Picture into a Finished Light

A custom chandelier from a photo is one of the most common requests we get from abroad. Someone sees a light on Instagram or Pinterest, can't find it, or finds it in the wrong size or at the wrong price, and asks: can you make something like this? Usually the answer is yes. This article explains how we turn a reference image into a finished light, and what you can expect along the way.

Is a photo really enough to start?

For a first quote, yes. You don't need a technical drawing. A clear photo, a rough idea of the size and the room it will go in are enough for us to judge the construction and give you a realistic price. Our team has been making chandeliers, pendants and wall lights in Istanbul since 1984, so we can usually tell from a picture how a light is built, which parts are spun, cut or cast, and what finish it has.

What to send with the photo

• One or more photos or links of the light you like
• Where it will hang, and your ceiling height
• The diameter or width you have in mind, even roughly
• Preferred finish: brass, gold, antique brass, nickel, black or white
• Quantity and delivery country

How we read a reference image

Scale and proportions

Photos are often misleading about size. A chandelier that looks huge in a styled interior may be only 60 cm across. We estimate the real proportions from details in the image, then resize the design to your room rather than copying a size that might not fit.

Materials and construction

We identify what the light is made of (metal, glass, acrylic, marble, fabric) and how each part is produced. In our own facility we have CNC laser cutting, CNC metal spinning, tube cutting and plating baths, so most metal parts are made in-house rather than bought in.

Light source

We decide whether the design needs integrated LED, standard bulbs (E27, E14, G9) or a mix, and how bright it should be for the space. We wire to the voltage of your country.

Inspired by, not copied

We respect other designers' work. If your reference is a protected design from another brand, we won't produce a replica. Instead we offer our own design in the same mood, with the details adjusted to your space. In practice this is often better: you get a light sized and finished for your room, not a copy made to someone else's measurements. For your own drawings, and for generic styles such as ring chandeliers, glass clusters or spun domes, we can follow the reference closely.

From photo to finished light, step by step

1. Send the photo by WhatsApp or email, in English.
2. Specification and quote. We confirm size, materials, finish and lighting, and send the price and lead time.
3. Approval. For larger or more complex pieces we share drawings or finish samples before production.
4. Production in our Istanbul workshop: cutting, spinning, plating, assembly and wiring.
5. Checking and export packing. Each piece is tested and packed for international transport.
6. Delivery to your address or your forwarder, with export documents.

What affects the price

• Overall size and the amount of metal, glass or marble
• Finish: gold or brass plating costs more than paint
• Number of light points and the type of light source
• Complexity of the parts, such as hand-shaped glass or many spun elements
• Quantity: unit prices drop for series orders

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a chandelier just from a photo?

Yes. Most of our custom work starts from a photo, a screenshot or a product link. We work out the construction, proportions and materials, then send you a specification and price before anything is made.

Will it be an exact copy of the light in the picture?

If the reference is a protected design of another brand, we don't make copies. We propose our own interpretation in the same spirit, adjusted to your size, finish and budget. For generic styles and your own designs, we can follow the reference closely.

How much does a custom chandelier cost?

Price depends on size, materials, finish, the number of light points and quantity. Send us the photo with your dimensions and we'll quote it, usually within one business day.

Do you make single pieces or only large orders?

Both. There is no fixed minimum order. We make one-off chandeliers for private homes as well as series for hotels and restaurants.
